Ang Tartanilya, long known as Iligan’s “King of the Road,” takes center stage once again in this year’s 8th Tartanilya Repair, Painting, and Beautification Contest. This unique cultural event breathes new life into the city’s iconic horse-drawn carriages through creativity, craftsmanship, and artistry.
The contest not only preserves Iligan’s heritage but also provides a platform to highlight tourism, cultural pride, and the talents of local artists.
📅 Schedule & Mechanics
- Entry Deadline: September 1, 2025 at 5:00 PM
- Painting Period: September 24–26, 2025
- Final Judging: September 27, 2025
Mechanics:
- Teams of 3–4 members may join.
- Sub-themes will be randomly assigned.
- Paint will be provided by organizers; participants must bring their own brushes and art tools.
- Entries will be judged based on artistry, creativity, and adherence to theme.

📍 How to Join
- Secure and fill out the registration form at the Office of Councilor Michelle Sweet (4th Floor, Legislative Building, Iligan City Hall).
- Submit the accomplished form to the same office.
- Wait for confirmation from the Secretariat.
- Attend the participant orientation (schedule to be announced).
