Iligan City has earned national recognition in the 2024 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), ranking among the country’s most competitive and improved highly urbanized cities.

The National Competitiveness Council, in partnership with the DTI, has awarded Iligan City three prestigious distinctions in the 2024 CMCI:
- Rank 20 – Most Competitive Highly Urbanized City (Innovation Pillar)
- Rank 8 – Most Improved Highly Urbanized City
- Rank 20 – Most Competitive Highly Urbanized City (Economic Dynamism Pillar)
