DTI Iligan Reiterates Strict Compliance with Price Tag Act
Ang Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)–Lanao del Norte has issued a firm reminder to Iligan City retailers and business owners to comply with the Price Tag Act, which requires all establishments to conspicuously display prices on products being sold.
According to Provincial Director Jane Marie Tabucan, every item must carry a visible price tag—either attached directly to the product or clearly labeled nearby. This rule applies even to stores that use price scanners, as manual or computerized labeling remains mandatory under the law.
“Ang price tag must be conspicuously displayed. Dapat nakatapot siya sa product o naa syay label nga duol sa iya,” Tabucan emphasized.
She added that DTI regularly monitors compliance with the Price Tag Act through monthly inspections. Establishments found violating the rule are first asked to explain their non-compliance. However, repeated offenses may result in formal notices of violation and further legal action following due process.
