Almost 5,000 job vacancies were offered during the World Café of Opportunities held on September 18, 2025, at Robinsons Place Iligan City. The event, led by TESDA in partnership with DOLE, PESO-Iligan, and other government and private organizations, aimed to connect TESDA graduates and jobseekers to both local and overseas employment. The initiative supports government efforts to address unemployment and skills mismatch, empowering Iliganons toward sustainable livelihoods.

Iligan Strengthens Employment Opportunities Through World Café of Opportunities 2025

Ang Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), in collaboration with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), PESO-Iligan City, and several partner agencies, spearheaded the World Café of Opportunities (WCO)sa Robinsons Place Iligan City. The event was designed to serve as a one-stop shop for employment and training opportunities, helping reduce unemployment and address skills mismatch in the region.

A total of 4,701 job vacancies were made available, comprising:

  • 1,583 overseas positions from four international employers.
  • 3,118 local job openings from twenty-four participating companies.

Jobseekers, including TESDA graduates, actively participated in the fair, with several being hired on the spot. One of them, Hayyanisah Unte Sarip, who was hired as a Financial Advisor, expressed gratitude for the opportunities made accessible through the event, noting how such initiatives bring hope and support to many Filipinos in search of stable employment.

According to TESDA RTC-Iligan Supervising TESD Specialist Faisalia Bato, the program’s main objective is to bridge unemployment and skills gaps, while DOLE Lanao del Norte Supervising Labor and Employment Officer Rommil Cagas reaffirmed that the activity is part of the government’s continuing commitment under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to tackle unemployment nationwide.

The success of the World Café of Opportunities in Iligan City underscores the government’s dedication to improving job accessibility and economic stability.
